<p>Duane Poncy, a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, is a lifelong social and literary activist. His latest novel is <em>Skyrmion: Book One of the Sweetland Quartet. </em>He is also the co-author, with his wife, Patricia J McLean, of <em>Ghosts of Saint-Pierre, </em>among other titles<em>.</em> They live and write fiction in Portland, Ore­gon.</p>
