Lloyd Lofthouse and his wife live near San Francisco with a second home in Shanghai, China. In 1999, his wife introduced him to Robert Hart launching a decade of research that included trips to China and writing the 1st edition of “My Splendid Concubine”. A former US Marine and Vietnam Veteran, Lloyd earned a BA in Journalism and an MFA in writing. Then for three decades, he taught mostly English and journalism in the public schools.
