Emelia Govender, a mother of two living in Cape Town. Her love for books and poetry was sparked by her “Didi Aya”(maternal grandmother) who read voraciously.<p>Emelia has her poem “Me” published in Living While Feminist(Kwela-2020)</p><br><p>Emelia’s debut picture book The Magical Adventures of Cyan: I Believe In Book Fairies, Do You? is a loving tale of determination, kindness and realistic challenges. All children deserve to see themselves in the books they read. She hopes this first book in the series will serve as a conversation starter for families and inspire some soon to be minibookfairies. </p><p>Emelia is passionate about diversity in books. </p><br>Emelia enjoys thrifting, doing fun castings, writing poetry, reading, being a tourist in her city, spending time with her family and her work as a Book Fairy.
