C A V E A T · L E C T O R

Why are you here? This is the most secluded spot on th'entire web.
How did you get here? Just got lost? No·one gets so lost as that.
Right, so then . . . how did I get here?

I did not intend to write. The stories came to me, and wouldn't go away.
So I wrote them down, just to get them out of my head. Only, they grew,
extended to ever·greater distance, time, effect and text.

The plot is too complex, the characters too numerous, the concepts
too disparate, the presentation too outré, for any but a tiny fraction
of readers to follow. Publication was never a consideration,
let·alone mass·marketing.

How·ever, having come this far, I should at·least make it available.
Too expensive to print it, due to th'extensive incorporation of color.
So .epub it is, or rather .xhtml served up in .epub shackles.

It all takes place in the future, but not the one we were expecting.
When we think of the future, we think of the present but more·so.
And when we think of the past, do we think of the present but less·so?
No, because we can see that history is crook·ed, not straight, not linear.
The future will be crook·ed too, for a while. Eventually we'll break it,
already in progress. Then what?

Hint: If you're looking for dystopia, go read the news, this aint it.

The present is so vain, assumes the future will imitate it. This future
does not resemble the present. This is the future that the present
never wanted, while precluding all others. But it's big, many·faceted.
Every·one can find some·thing in it to admire, some·thing to detest.

That's my excuse. What's yours? Why are you here? Please be advised
that by entering, you risk exposure to non·standard thought.
