<p>Lalit A Patel got a basic understanding of harmony, economy, and taxation while watching his grandfather's role as a village chief. A small book on atoms led him to study physics, and a National Science Talent Scholarship helped him roam in another dreamland of physics. He did his BSc in Physics from MS University, and his MSc and PhD in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology at Delhi. His PhD research work was theoretical, related to thermonuclear fusion in laser plasmas. After teaching Physics and Energy at IIT Delhi for a few years, he ventured into renewable energy businesses. After immigrating to the USA, he worked at two telecommunication companies for a few years. After two years of unemployment and life-science studies, he worked for the Florida Department of Revenue. His jobs related to tax auditing, data processing, and software development strengthened his understanding of taxation. Now retired, he works on esoteric projects and posts them at his website lipy.us.</p>
