About the author

Michael M. Alvarez

Mike Alvarez, a native Arizonan, is on the writing faculty of Pima Community College and has written and published numerous short stories, essays, poems, and articles on writing. His work has appeared in various publications, including <em>The Arizona Daily Star</em> and <em>Writer’s Digest</em>. Several of his short stories have been included in three anthologies. <br> &nbsp; He is also the author of five books: <em>The Last Place God Made, Deliver Us from Evil, Kino’s Gold, The Treasure of the Santa Ritas (Young Adult), and Mamas, Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Writers (</em>a book about writers and the writing life<em>). </em>He is a member of The Society of Southwestern Authors and Arizona Mystery Writers. <br> &nbsp; He and his wife live in Tucson, Arizona.<br>
