Darrell Hillier is a former resident of Gander, Newfoundland, and has had a lifelong interest in Newfoundland and Labrador's aviation history. He holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Memorial University of Newfoundland. His aviation articles have appeared in the <em>Newfoundland Quarterly</em>, the <em>Canadian Aviation Historical Society Journal</em>, and the <em>American Aviation Historical Society Journal</em>.
