C. L. (Cyndi) Pauwels brings an authenticity to her crime novels thanks to working in criminal justice for over 10 years. Her short fiction has appeared in numerous print and online outlets. In addition to the first two novels in her “Toledo Trilogy,” <em>Forty & Out</em> (2014) and <em>Burned Bridges</em> (2018), she has also published the award-winning non-fiction <em>Historic Warren County: An Illustrated History </em>(2008) and several anthologized personal essays. When she’s not immersed in writing her next book, Cyndi teaches creative writing online for Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona.
