<p>Jody's novel, Forbidden, is inspired by her teenage years and challenging young romance. Those times were tough, but she had a best friend who supported her, which led to a love triangle. For the past twenty years, Jody has enjoyed creating stories, places, and characters. She loves writing on stormy days with Hans Zimmer's music in the background, and sometimes is moved to tears by her own chapters.</p><p>Jody never took formal classes. Instead, she learned from the #WritingCommunity on X, picking up tips on pitching to agents, and, more recently, self-publishing.</p><p>While her writing has always focused on Forbidden, she recently pitched a children's series to her editor, Kat Taylor, and together they turned it into a manuscript. She hopes to start the next book in the series soon.</p><p>Jody started out as a poet, attending open mic nights that helped her improve her writing. As a teenager, her poetry was published by United Press. She was also featured twice on 5TownsRadio.</p><p>Jody enjoys day trips around Yorkshire with her husband, Colin, and their dog Cannoli, often ending up in her favourite town, Whitby.</p><p>Jody likes to help others, cares for her elders, and supports charities.</p><p>Her bubbly personality and infectious laugh make her a joy to be around.</p>
