Dave Gray was born and bred in Crewe, Cheshire. Crewe's a railway town; it's tough, but it's real. Like the people.<br>He studied Law at the University of Nottingham before embarking on a 17-year self-flagellating career in retail, in management and area loss prevention. In these roles he saw both the best of people, and the worst.<br>He now lives just across the border in Shropshire with his fiancee Emma and has a much-improved work-life balance, giving him the chance to fulfil his childhood ambition of writing. Hopefully those who are generous enough to read his books will take as much pleasure from reading them as he takes from writing them...<br>
