About the author
Cécile Rischmann

It was easy for Cécile Rischmann to aspire to be an artist as she hailed from a family of professional musicians, but life took a turn in the direction of Academics. From a Master in French Literature and MHRM (Human Resource Management) to Diplomas in Italian, Business English, Creative writing, and two years of private tutoring in Spanish, she did them all. However, these colourful accomplishments were attained only after rock bottom failure.

A chance gift by her brother, a Bible and a book of Dr Peale, bought her a dream, impossible though it was, at least then, considering her financial status, however, the seed was sown, and her heart fired. It didn't matter that she hailed from an ordinary Indian family with no contacts or influence, that she didn't have wealthy God's parents or a dime to her name. All that mattered was where she wanted to go.
Twenty-five years later, she's an Author and Linguist, travelling around the world with her gorgeous, French husband, learning new cultures, languages, and dance, and writing love stories. In 2014, she bagged a nationwide romance-writing contest when Best-Selling author, Anuja Chauhan picked up her short-story Jilted and edited it. Rupa Publication published it in an anthology, An Atlas of Love.

In 2015, her first novel, The French Encounter, was published by Partridge India, a Penguin Random House. It sells presently across the globe. The interview has been attracting media attention ever since then. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-RoHhdKka0

Nikhil Raghavan, Senior Editor, The Hindu, founder of Take One, an E-Magazine which features the latest news from the world of cinema, sports and entertainment read The French Encounter. He decided that Cécile Rischmann's novel needed to reach a wider audience and perhaps turned into a movie.
