<p>Michael Singleton is an Australian writer. He spent his early years in England, but now lives with his partner near Byron Bay in northern New South Wales on five acres of forested land near the ocean.  He has always been fascinated by archaeology, and has spent much of his life studying and exploring ancient sites.  Most recently, he has published articles relating to archaeology in international academic journals, and spends a considerable amount of his time travelling to far flung destinations in search of obscure ruined cities.  <em>Hillside</em> is his first novel.</p>
