Dan Barton

<p>Dan Barton began performing stand-up comedy while a student at the University of Texas and a humor columnist for <em>The Daily Texa</em>n. He then moved to Houston and began appearing at the Comedy Workshop&#8217;s Comix Annex with Bill Hicks and Sam Kinison. After moving to Los Angeles, he pursued a career in the entertainment industry as a writer and performer.&#160;</p><p>His stand-up career took him around the hemisphere to sold-out nightclubs, theaters, and auditoriums. Dan also appeared in feature films, television programs, industrial videos and national commercials.</p><p>He transitioned to a career as a writer and producer in cable television. He worked as a writer and producer at E! Entertainment television for ten years, serving as supervising producer of the enormously successful &#8220;Wild On&#8221; television series starring supermodel turned host Brooke Burke. His other credits at E! include such shows as <em>E! News Daily, Uncut, Celebrity Profile </em>and<em> Wild On.</em></p><p>He is a veteran of five seasons as the head writer for the Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe and Emmy Red Carpet Countdown shows broadcast on the TV Guide Network. He simultaneously produced TVGN&#8217;s popular weekly series, &#8220;What&#8217;s On DVD.&#8221;</p><p>His career as a novelist began with the publication of the paperback originals BANSHEE and RELIFE. He then created the fictional character of comedian turned amateur sleuth Biff Kincaid and began to write a series of mysteries based around his experiences in stand up comedy.</p><p>He publishes a newsletter filled with exclusive content as well as information about upcoming book releases.
