<p>Pat Bernstein comes from a family of distinguished authors and public speakers and was born in South Africa, lived most of his life in the UK and in his own words is “Highly politicised by living in times where General Franco, the Russian invasion of Hungary, and the fall of the apartheid regime in South Africa dominated …” every part of his early life.</p><p>Both his parents have authored acclaimed non-fiction detailing life in South Africa under the apartheid regime. His mother has also written fiction which has been made into a BBC film and was an acclaimed speaker at international conferences on women’s rights.</p><p>Pat grew up in South Africa, but spent most of his adult life in Britain. He has lived and travelled in various parts of Southern Africa and now lives in France. This is his first novel. His distaste for injustice and especially racism is a strong undercurrent in both his writing and his personal life.</p>
