<p>L. Phillips Carlson has more than 130 published articles, short stories and poems to her credit, most under a different pen name. She also worked as a copy editor for a group of nationally-distributed magazines, wrote and edited a local newsletter for a decade, and penned an award-winning church history. Her short novel, <em>A Matter of Possession</em>, won the 2015 New Mexico-Arizona Book Award for Science Fiction and Fantasy. When not writing, Ms. Carlson travels widely, sings in a symphonic chorus, and tends to various members of her family. She lives in sunny New Mexico with her retired-engineer husband in a pueblo-style home they designed themselves.</p>
