S.R. Swope was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where he was adopted into a loving family and the first of many books was placed before him. While Harold and the Purple Crayon deserves some credit for his imagination it wasn't until he fell into Narnia that the seeds of writing were sown.

After studying communication at Michigan State University Scott embarked on a long career in Hotel & Resort Management. There, in the land of truth-is-stranger-than-fiction, Scott collected stories and tucked them away for future yarns.

The hospitality industry made him a nomad and from his own adoption onward, he has "found family" everywhere - a theme that finds its way into most of his stories. Now residing in Portugal, Scott is forever a Michigander at heart. The Tale of Tarak-Kar is his first published work, with a historical novel on the horizon.
