About the author

S.R. Swope

S.R. Swope was born/adopted/raised in Michigan and while he credits a purple crayon for his imagination it took a fall into Narnia to sow the seeds of writing. After that a book was never far from his side. Following studies in communications at Michigan State University, Scott embarked on a long, successful career in hotels & resorts. There, in the land of truth-is-stranger-than-fiction, the industry made him a nomad. From his own adoption onward he has been on the move and found family everywhere. A theme that now runs through his stories.

The Tale of Tarak-Kar is a fantasy ballad available on audio and ebook. Told in verse to echo the oral story telling traditions, the audiobook (narrated by the amazing Jeff Witzke) shines! The illustrated ebook offers a more careful way to explore the story.
Combine the two for an amazing read-along experience! Especially helpful for younger readers who may be new to reading in verse.

Scott's debut novel, a literary blend of coming-of-age and road-trip adventure, is set to release in 2027.

Scott and his stories are 100% AI free.
