About the author

Juliette Lawson

Juliette Lawson lives by the sea at Seaton Carew, part of Hartlepool, in north east England. A classics degree, a passion for local history and many years researching her family tree meant that historical fiction was a natural choice when deciding to write a novel. She loves to travel, and her holiday choices are always influenced by the availability of historical sites to visit!

Her first book (under her real name, Julie Cordiner) was a parish history to help raise funds for her local church's restoration. The tales she uncovered made for fascinating reading, and the idea for the Seaton Carew Sagas series was born. The first book, A Borrowed Past, explores what it means to belong, when you can't trust your own family to tell you the truth about your origins.

Juliette loves to read both classic literature and modern fiction, not only historical but also thrillers, cozy mysteries, contemporary fiction, and books with interesting locations. She sings in the church choir and her local Ladies' Choir, plays violin and piano quite badly, knits and sews, and loves spending time with her granddaughters.
