Sanford Emerson is a native Maine-iac who came of age in the 1960’s and still remembers most of it. He is a graduate of Bates College in Lewiston, Maine and a stretch in the Navy followed by a thirty-five-year law enforcement career in the mountains of western Maine, during which he wrote police reports, pre-sentence investigations and proposals to his superiors for improvements to the profession which went mostly nowhere.<br><br>These days Sandy lives in Wilton, Maine with his lovely and talented writer wife and a slightly psychotic cat who thinks he is a real numbskull. His short stories have appeared in <strong>Best New England Crime Stories </strong>in 2015, 2016, and 2017. He has also been published in <em>Down East Magazine</em>. <br><br>
