<p>Monique is an author with Austin Macauley publishers, New York, and her first scifi novel, "The Girl from Space", is being published on the 5th of January, 2024!<br/><br/>Monique was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she currently resides with her husband and one cooky cat.<br/><br/>Always the avid reader, she spent every available moment as a child devouring books and learning to read by the time she was three. Fantasy and science fiction films were her staple diet growing up, firmly establishing her love and passion for storytelling of the otherworldly kind.<br/><br/>After a very successful professional dance career, spanning 25 years, she began writing seriously in 2009 when her husband and greatest supporter urged her to put down her stories on paper.<br/><br/>Her first writing project was The Sword Bearers, an epic fantasy tetralogy, which she self-published. The books are currently being rewritten and split into 12 shorter books to create a series.<br/><br/>"The Door" is the first of many short stories Monique has planned.<br/><br/>She is also a professional actress, dance teacher, choreographer, and playwright.</p>
