<p>Richard Odey is the author of the Victor Briggs series, action novels set in Nigeria. He used to be a soldier in the Nigerian Army, where he survived a collision between his truck loaded with high explosive artillery shells and a tanker filled with 33, 000 litres of petrol. Richard spends his spare time reading when he is not eating, sleeping, working out or gardening. He lives with his wife and son in Calabar.</p>
