Lara is a 40-something-year-old woman with an incurable sexually transmitted virus: genital herpes. This is the only place she leads with such an introduction. Everywhere else, Lara is woman with a regular job, living in a regular town, doing regular things. She’s a mum, a partner, a sister, a daughter, and an optimist.<br><br>Lara loves to write on the side of her day job, with a vision to create change. After her experience of triumphing over herpes to the point where it barely registers as a thought, she decided it was time to make that book a reality and share the lessons with as many people as possible.<br><br>Starting with her debut book, Lara’s mission is to change the status quo from one where sexual health is shameful and covert to a reality where we can talk openly about herpes, when it’s appropriate, to the people we trust. <em>Herpes - A Memoir</em> is the first step towards that healthier future.<br><br>When not writing smut and humor, Lara likes to walk her puppy, cuddle her teenager who’s rapidly growing out of public affection, cook meals that are reasonably nourishing, dance in her living room and sit in the sun until idleness gets the better of her.
