Barton, a retired U.S. Air Force officer and also retired from a major aerospace company, spends his time, when not writing, on the golf course and climbing the trails and mountains of his adopted state of Colorado. He has written three novels in a series, <em>Diversion, Relentless Target,</em> and <em>Elusive Quarry</em>.</p>
