<p>Pedro Alvarez is a student of mythology who searches for stories of heroes and monsters wherever they may be found. His fascination started when he was a young boy in a small town listening to community stories, and continued through adulthood, where he has traveled abroad in search of stories told by families around campfires and water holes.</p>
<p>Mr. Alvarez has worked with foster and adopted children for the past 25 years. Their stories of separation, loss, abandonment, and resilience are the DNA of <strong><em>meroMERO: The Big Ugly</em></strong>, where he fused them with the mythology of heroes and monsters to create a story with adventures, tribulation, and ultimately—survival.</p>
