About the author
Jonathan Tuttle

JONATHAN TUTTLE is a writer, entrepreneur, husband, and father whose path to authorship was rooted in his love of books. His parents made literature accessible early—from the classics and stories of faith and persecution to frontier sagas, mysteries, and historical epics. Those stories shaped his understanding of courage, conviction, and storytelling.

But it took a while to get there. Tuttle spent more than twenty-five years building an advertising and marketing firm, where he discovered the power of story to move hearts and minds. That blend of curiosity, creativity, and craftsmanship now fuels his writing.

Originally from southeastern Pennsylvania, where he developed his love for history, Tuttle has lived in the Midwest for over two decades and has called Madison, Wisconsin, home for fifteen years. When he isn't writing, he's usually traveling, golfing, or spending time with his wife and children—constant reminders of what truly matters.

Tuttle founded Crowned Lion Books to publish narratives that inspire courage and virtue, teach life lessons, and lift up the human experience. The independent press launches with his historical Courage to Stand series but isn't limited to any single genre. What unites future titles will be a shared commitment: stories told with literary craftsmanship that challenge readers to live with greater conviction.

Courage to Stand: Across the Ages is the inaugural release, examining heroes of virtue from St. George to Harriet Tubman, from Thomas More to Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Tuttle writes immersive narratives that transport readers to the sights, smells, and sounds of the moments that shaped history—built on meticulous research and literary craftsmanship.

The next four volumes focus on the American story: Planting Courage (2026) traces courage from Pilgrims through Revolution. Founding Courage (2026) follows the next generation building institutions. Refining Fire traces courage through Civil War and world wars. Standing Firm brings the story to our time. Together, they ask: What does courage look like in each generation's defining struggle?
