Unholy Craving: A Forbidden Gay Romance (Sinful Natures Book 1) Kindle Edition

4.3 4.3 out of 5 stars 244 ratings

As a newly appointed youth pastor, I blindly walk by faith, stumbling without the promised light down God’s chosen path.

Until a young man resurrects the sinful nature I’ve rejected in my strive for purity.

Isaac Van Dusen, my pastor’s son.

He’s troubled. Rebellious. Off limits to my lonely heart, yet gives me breath when I feel I’m drowning and in need of a savior.

Isaac’s hunger for sin rivals mine, the kind that consumes.

Burns like fire and brimstone.

I’m determined to stay in a constant state of prayer, begging for delivery from temptation—all while dreaming of being on my knees for entirely different reasons.

I want to submit to the unholy craving between us and worship the young man entrusted to my spiritual care.

But acting on the lusts of the flesh ensures our fall from grace, and I can’t allow him to be the second one to pay the price for my sins.

Even if it means living a lie for eternity.

    Fabulous ❤️
I've never read anything by Lynn Burke, but when I read the blurb for this story I knew I had to have it. The journey between Malachi and Isaac was AMAZING! Ugh, their story took hold of my heart and squeezed in the best way possible. The writing was excellent. Their journey had all the feels; happiness, sadness, shame and sheer joy. The characters were so vulnerable with their feelings towards each other. The pain they both suffered ripped my heart out, no one should ever feel less than because of ideals or teachings they've grown up with. Malachi of course struggled with his "immoral thoughts," but their connection was simply undeniable. Love is love, there was nothing immoral about the way these two fit together seemlessly.Forbidden love, age gap, sweet and sassy MC'S, spicy sexy times, this was a huge win for me. I highly recommend this book and I really hope there is more in the series. Thank you Ms. Burke for a beautiful love story ❤️

I am a sucker for LGBTQ+ stories and this one was a wild ride! A great story of finding yourself and learning to not push desires away. Had me at the edge of my seat the whole time! I love Isaac's bratty attitude, makes everything so much funnier. Absolute gem I was able to read!

I really enjoyed this book. I love how realistical it is. I think that the emotional Rollercoaster was stressful but the story read really well.

Malachi comes as the new youth pastor to the church where Isaiah's father is the pastor. Pastor Bram hopes that Malachi can reach his son as he is unable to. Isaiah and Malachi are attracted to each other but while Isaiah wants to explore it, Malachi is struggling with his past and his sexuality. Knowing that Isaiah wants to go to Nashville once he is of legal age, Malachi wants to spare him the problems he fell into when he went there. Isaiah does not want to hear Malachi's words. Can Malachi reach Isaiah? Will the two of them give into their attraction?

I loved this book. Malachi is so into trying to follow his religion that I could feel his pain as he thinks of Isaiah and as he slips. Isaiah is a free spirit who is just waiting to leave the parental nest. He has no use for what his father preaches but does not practice. I could understand that. There is a lot of pain. I do like that Isaiah shows Malachi the way out but not without potential loss. When Malachi finally discovers his joy, I went wild. I was like yes, yes, yes.

I liked Isaiah's mother. She was cool. I also liked Jennifer. She truly was not one to judge. She gives a lot of support to Malachi.

I look forward to reading the rest of this series.

I like forbidden troupes like this one so don’t get me wrong. Issac spends most of the book behaving very immature and only looking at his lust. Malachi while being a pastor and not wanting to ‘sin’ doesn’t do a great job at stopping his thoughts. I have read books of this sort before and they usually have more substance this one simply lacked for 60% of the book these two men pranced and lusted for each other. Then they all the sudden love each other while of course the father of Issac drills Christian rhetoric till the cows come home. This could have been good instead it was lacking in passion and chemistry making me feel for the characters.

The sensitive topic of religion and homosexuality intrigues me - a lot of religions consider it a sin and unnatural, even though some religions slowly change and become more accepting. And it's not always about the religion itself, but more about the people who practice, the ones who read the bible, or the ones who preach about it in church.
Isaac's father is one of those unaccepting pastors. He preaches about it, tells his fellow church members how sinful it is. He doesn't understand his closed off son, and he asks Malachi - who will be the youth pastor in his church - to talk to him and find out what's bothering him.
Isaac knows he's gay, and he hides his sexuality for his friends and his family, knowing his father won't ever be able to accept that part of him. He can't wait to turn eighteen, so he can be free and lead his own life, preferably in Nashville, where he will try to find ways to be a musician, talented as he is.
When Isaac meets Malachi, there's an instant attraction, and that's the beginning of a want and a need both men never experienced before. And the more Isaac flirts with him, and the more he tells Malachi he wants him, the more Malachi prays to be strong so he can deny his feelings and won't be tempted to do something sinful. But the longer he waits, the more he wants Isaac, until he can no longer stay away. The sexual tension between them was there between the lines, almost on each page. It grew stronger and stronger, until neither man could stay away from the other. So when they finally give in, there's heat and want and pure lust, built up from all these days of longing and pining for something forbidden.

This felt real. Some readers may find Malachi's struggles repetitive, but I found them realistic. It wouldn't have been if he could have set his strong believes and his faith in God, aside just like that. Of course he struggles. Of course he tries to deny what he feels. It's all he's been taught to believe. He doesn't want to sin, doesn't want to give into his weakness. Be strong. Pray. Stay hopeful for God to show you the way.
Of course there's a hea. But the path that leads to it, is hard and tough, and both Isaac and Malachi suffer to get there. In the end, it makes it all the more rewarding.

My first book by Lynn Burke, and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to read the second book in this series!

New youth Pastor Malachi Foley is trying to accept his calling and deny his heart. He has suffered some loss and does not want to be tempted again. Isaac Van Dusen (Head Pastor’s Son) is trying to bide his time at home until he turns 18. He wants to then chase his dream of becoming a singer. He also wants to live his life for himself and not his father’s teachings. He is tired of hiding who he really is. For some this is a taboo romance that they just can not think about, and I understand that. I, however, loved this story. It is about so much more than acceptance and love in a taboo relationship.

Malachi and Isaac’s story is to me what true love is about. The reasons to never be together sound solid on paper, but in the real world when a love this beautiful and pure comes along you should grab onto with both hands and not let go. Like recognizes like, and these two are just made for one another. Their passion for one another is tangible. The pain Isaac goes through turning 18, and coming out to his father is heartbreaking and more so when he realizes he lives his faith better than his father. The growth that Malachi and Isaac go through together and the HEA ending is so good. If taboo romance is your thing, then I highly recommend this book.

Some pieces of the puzzle just obviously fit together and maybe even have a cellular magnetic force of attraction. Others may see it. Many will crave it. Most will condemn it. Yet until you have seen the music and felt the notes as life vibrates in both of you with perfect rhythm and harmony, it is hard to understand the invisible attachment of heart and mind with the visible excitement that is hard to miss in pants or eyes when sharing the stage together with true love and no fear of missing God's love.
