Marrying Her SEAL (ASSIGNMENT: Caribbean Nights Book 7) Kindle Edition

4.4 out of 5 stars 171 ratings

Navy SEAL Jaxon Hyland can fix anything—except the inconvenient attraction he's always had for his gorgeous best friend.

It was easy to maintain a hands-off policy when he was deployed half a world away but when Thora pops up on Duchess Island, the Caribbean paradise Jack calls home, everything changes. Emotionally bruised by a bad breakup, Thora needs Jack now more than ever. Jack has never been able to tell her no, not even when she asks him to marry her. It's supposed to be temporary. 100% fake. Platonic. But how long can that really last when she's the only woman he's ever wanted?

"Jax and Thora made my heart melt! I love when friends turn into lovers and find the HEA they were meant to always have."~Amazon reviewer

Marrying Her SEAL is another fine installment in the "Assignment: Caribbean Nights" story line. We previously met NAVY SEAL Jaxon Hyland and Thora, his friend-since-childhood, in an earlier book. We were teased about their history. They deserved a book all to themselves.

This book spells out how their decades-long involvement has morphed into something deeper for each of them, and how denial and miscommunication have led them to this point. Their dependable and trusted friendship is put to the test on Duchess Island, where Jack, aka Jax, and his SEAL teammates have formed a Caribbean excursion company post-SEAL involvement, that offers parasailing outings. In the near future, they’ll be able to offer diving tours to a reef they designed and constructed.

Thora is fresh out of a failed engagement, and alone in life. So, of course, she turns to her best friend for support to get through her funk. However, previous to her visit with Jack, she's made a pitch for a TV show on relationships, in which she represents one of the two spokespersons for married couples. And since her engagement went down the toilet, she finds herself with the acceptance of the pitch, but without a spouse. You got it; she proposes to Jack, aka Jaxon, thus, the title for this book, Marrying Her SEAL.

Jack’s been living a lie, keeping a huge secret from his brothers in arms. Through life-long trickery and diffusion tactics, he’s been able to deceive his SEAL team about his dyslexia. He’s successfully overcome his deficiency by always being able to fix any physical challenge in their SEAL lives, aka he’s the team’s Jack-of-all-Trades. A new problem situation Thora just learned not only threatens their arranged marriage but makes him feel she’s embarrassed about his reading disorder, which she’s known about and helped him with through the years.

Jack and Thora each bring a full plate of secrets to their supposedly platonic marriage, resulting in a whole bunch of drama. You'll just have to read the book to find out how they navigate all the ups and downs of their relationship and finally discover and admit the true depth of their feelings for each other. You won't be disappointed.

I loved Fitz and Leilah and thought that was sweet and heartwarming. Jax just took the cake. I loved that their friendship had brought such balance to their lives which will be a good foundation for their new life and family.

I really love that they're not cookie cutter perfect characters. Their flaws make them that much more relatable.

I would have loved and epilogue. I hope we continue to hear from them in the next story. I can't wait to hear Jace's story.

Jaxon and Thora have been friends since elementary school and changing to lovers afraid to ruin what they have as friends is holding them back for no reason except fear. Highly recommend reading. Onto the next book.

This may have been my favorite story yet! I loved the friends to lovers dynamic. This one wasn't your typical story though. They didn't end up together in a normal way. I really liked that change. They're chemistry was off the charts though. All the little flirty things that happened and built up made they're first time intense.

Oh Jax and Thora made my heart melt. I love when friends turn into lovers and find the HEA they were meant to always have. Watching these two dance around their true feelings for one another, even though they both showed the other the love they had through their actions was precious to see.
