Flirtatious Letitia Swanley eagerly anticipates the arrival of Lord Philip Cygnus at each ball to only steal kisses from the rake. Neither want marriage but fate has another plan. Lighthearted reading that feels good with a small bit of drama. Part of a series but can be read as a standalone. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

That was just so sweet. I loved Phillip and Letitia and their almost-fake relationship. It certainly had all the angsty surprise feelings I expect from that kind of storyline. I also really enjoyed the chance to check back with couples we’d already met, and to see an inkling of what may be coming with future books. (And I already can’t wait to get my hands on those future books.) I had so much fun watching these two realize they were falling in love, I’m a little sorry it’s over already.

Letitia and Philip think they have been super sneaky about spending "alone" time together. But alas, their luck runs out and Letitia's mom is the one to bust them. That's when things get real for the couple. And the one thing neither wanted, was pushed on them due to the society they live in. I just can't fathom the rules and am glad they break them. Philip's mom, Lady Swancove, is a real nasty piece of work but Philip puts her in her place when he finds out about a conversation she had with Letitia so he gained my respect. I recommend this book and patiently await the Otter and the Officer.
