Trigger warning: grief
This book is hard to review be cause I was highly triggered through multiple sections due to losing my own father 2 years ago. If I had to think objectively, it shows excellent writing to provoke those kinds of intense feelings. It’s worth the read in context with the rest of the series but needs the TW!.

What Trouble is Ani in Now?
Ani continues her duties to mummification of animals as the pharaoh funeral approaches, only some are convinced to sabotage her efforts. Nothing dramatic happens as the minor competence inconveniences are thwarted. Some humor moments to relieve the book tension. However not wanting the attention, Ani is brought out into the spotlight as another shock occurs before her, Nik and Matia can go home. I really like this series as it has a sitcom feel with a humble main character.

I loved it
I loved reading this story. Ani and Nik are so cute together. It’s fun seeing how they take on new challenges and navigate the obstacles before them. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but Ramesses does show up again in this book and based on certain events, I’m guessing he’ll play a bigger role in the next one.
I’m eager to see what will come next!.
