Lillian (Lily) Daniels was a vampire hunter. After the vampire hunter guild is destroyed, Lily is taken in by Dimitri and Ashryn’s vampire den. Lily is kept locked up. She must decide what she wants to do with her life. Lily finally decides she wants to go to a university. It is decided she will go to Grimalkin Academy with a bodyguard.
Bryce, a vampire, is tasked to become Lily’s bodyguard so she may attend Grimalkin Academy. Grimalkin Academy is for vampires and witches. Lily is human and an ex-vampire hunter. During their first meeting the typical sparks are ignited when a vampire and vampire hunter meet. But will those sparks crackle into a fire of desire? Only time will tell.
Bryce and Lily do not like each other at first. The more time they spend together the more they realize that the other is not so bad. Can they resist the pull they have towards each other? Watching them realize they have feelings for each other was a delight. Lily wants to prove to Dimitri, Ashryn, and Bryce that she can be trusted. She does not want the life of a vampire hunter anymore. What adventures lie in wait at the vampire academy for Lily? Can a former human vampire hunter survive a school full of vampires? How about taking a class on the history of vampire hunters?
This is the first book in the Grimalkin Academy Stakes. The book was very good. It is an easy read that entices you to turn the pages. The Obscure World that the author has built is wonderful. There are many characters that are entwined in different books. It is wonderful to see characters from other books in her current book. If you have not read her other books in this world you will still enjoy this story. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

The writing is great the author developed the flow to a great storyline. I loved the characters they had me hooked from the start.

THIS IS BOOK 1 OF THE GRIMALKIN ACADEMY: STAKES SERIES. I ENJOYED THIS BOOK AND THOUGHT IT WAS VERY WELL WRITTEN. I LOVED THE CHARACTERS AND FOUND THE STORY FULL OF ACTION THAT KEPT ME NOT WANTING TO PUT THE BOOK DOWN. A REALLY GREAT READ THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND READING.
