Lamps and Lies
Fantastic!! A fairytale adventure that’s amazing! Loved it! ❤️❤️📚👍 I received a arc copy from booksprout and volunteer to review this book.
Aly and the Genie
Aly is a poor orphan, forced to steal to eat. Finding a magical ring after helping a shopper gives her a chance to change her life. In this gender flipped take on Aladdin, the Genie’s magic turns Aly into Princess Alyeesah and sends her off to Grimm’s Academy. She hopes to meet a noble who will forgive her deception and offer her a better life. When she attracts the attention of Prince Enver, a jealous classmate could ruin everything.
Aly is charming and good hearted. She dislikes stealing and only does it when necessary. She isn’t comfortable with her lies either and tries to set things right regardless of cost to herself. The bonus prequel shows how the Genie actually choose Aly. He helps her in numerous ways before granting her wish and Aly is determined to use her final wish to set him free. When she finds out it’s not an option, she vows to do whatever she can to free him. She discovers she has a prophecy when her classmate blackmails her into stealing from the headmistress.
Despite knowing she can lose it all, she confesses all.
A fun read with a nice twist to the classic story.

Female Version Aladdin
Okay this by far is a favorite of mine. How the author made the traditional male Aladdin into female Aly and the twist of the fairy tale was creative and brilliant. I love how the series fairy tales all align to the traditional. But these creative tweaks make this Grimm Academy series more entertaining. This being Aly wanting a better life and her story is endearing and worth reading.
