This is the first book from the 'Grimm Academy' series I've read and was really quite delighted. In case you're like me and didn't know the premise, I'll make it brief. Grimm Academy is where fairy tale characters go to escape their foretold fate or prophecy. In this case, Red's prophecy would be the original telling of the story. Red wants more than that though. She wants to become a Huntsman, which isn't common for a woman. This is no fainting female. Nope. She is one determined, headstrong woman and it runs in the family. This was such a refreshing retelling of Red Riding Hood's story and am happy to recommend it.

A good retelling of Red Riding Hood with a twist which, I preferred to the original version of the tale. I loved the new and interesting twists Laura Greenwood provided in this more modern version. Red so wants to become a Huntsman now at Grimm Academy, she's about to fulfil her dream, although on the Academy's grounds, she's protected from her prophecy a letter from her father means she has to go to the aid of her sick grandmother. Will she and her grandmother become victims of the prophecy?

Red has waited all of her life for a chance to become a Huntsman and now, at Grimm Academy, she is ready to fulfill her dream. She should be protected from her prophecy on the Academy’s grounds but a letter from her father calls her away to help her sick grandmother. Will she and her grandmother fall victim to the prophecy? I actually liked this version of the tale better than the original one I heard as a child. Laura Greenwood introduced new twists that made it more interesting.
