Forgotten Gods
Mistress of Sky and Stars:
A story of forbidden love Ancient Egyptian style. Nut and Geb are opposites who are attracted wildly to each other. They are unique in that no other gods have had a relationship with another god before. When the unexpected happens and Nut becomes pregnant she and Geb must find a way around a curse in order for their family to be born.
Wonderful twist on an old myth. Full of a petty and self centered god, a couple who just want to be together, friends made in unexpected ways and a hea. A quick and highly entertaining story.
Collector of Sand and Tears:
Ra has a secret weapon he deploys when he is displeased with his followers. The Eye of Ra has no name, no form, she only exists to carry out his will. Until one day tired of the senseless violence she escapes. She hides in the desert takes the form of a lioness and scares off those who Ra sends to recapture her. Then one day Thoth arrives. They talk, he tells her stories and she looks forward to these visits. She longs to be her own person and somehow Thoth makes her loneliness and yearnings less hurtful. Then she names herself Nehmetawy. Suddenly things are a whole lot different. Maybe she is more than just a tool created for Ra’s use.
A story about discovering who you really are. Sweet romance elements with Thoth. An enjoyable story.
Queen of The Two Lands:
This book contains a brief rendition of the story of Isis and Osiris. It gives us their journey from merely co rulers to true spouses. There is also a brief telling of the feud between Osiris and his brother Seth. Mostly it is about Isis and her feelings and hopes.
It is quite short. With the amount of source material about these two I was left wanting more. Not my favorite.
Bringer of The River Waters:
The story of Taweret and Sobek and the Nile that would not flood. We also see more of the story of Seth’s betrayal of Osiris and discover how Seth will get his comeuppance. It’s interesting to read about some of the lesser known gods and goddesses of Ancient Egypt. Short but decent read.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Gods and goddesses
This is a collection of lesser known gods and goddesses from Egypt with a bit of a twist. Each one is a quick and clean read that were also cute. They made me laugh and smile and roll my eyes a few times too. But all were entertaining to read. Each star a different set of main characters and I enjoyed them all.
