Growing up is always hard to do. Especially when you are placed into positions you have to find your own footing in. Ani has had to endure this ever since becoming the Anubis Blessed but she is growing into the roll peacefully. She is grasping the concept of courtesy, political etiquette and relationships socially and personally. I am enjoying reading about her journeys and advancement along with the education into Ancient Egyptian ways. I received a free copy and my review is voluntary.

Her time at the temple has not exactly prepared our heroine for social events, so this one might just a bit of a challenge for her. This is book eight of the series. It works pretty well as a standalone, but would be more enjoyable if read from the start. Your call. This is a rather intriguing paranormal story with an Ancient Egypt theme in the modern world. As I get deeper into this series, I’m realizing how much I enjoy watching Ani, Nik, and Matia simply going about their day-to-day lives and learning more about the world they live in. They have days that are filled with excitement and adventure as well as the sweet ones where they can simply relax into being together and doing jobs they love. However, there’s a Wind of Change blowing hard into their lives and I’m very much looking forward to seeing what will come of it.
